“Macbeth” disappoints despite fine cast (Reuters)
Reuters - A light rain fell
intermittently during the Public Theater’s first press
performance of Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” in Central Park. But
despite one’s admiration for the actors (and the audience), who
soldiered on in the wet and the humidity, it was clear that
this is a disappointing production. Even the presence of Liev
Schreiber (”RKO 281″) as the ambitious Macbeth stirred only
faint excitement onstage.
